Goal
Each player has one pawn. In Classic it heads for the edge opposite its own side; in Race everyone starts on the bottom row and runs to the top. First to arrive wins; the game ends once 3 places are decided.
Moves and walls
- One action per turn: move the pawn to an adjacent cell (orthogonally, not diagonally) or place a wall.
- If a rival is on the adjacent cell you jump over them; if a wall is behind them, you step to the side.
- A wall is 2 cells long, sits between cells and can't be crossed.
- You may never block a player completely; everyone must keep at least one path.
- Walls are limited (see below); once they're gone you can only move.
- Each player has a 300-second clock; running out knocks you out.
Board and wall count
| Players | Walls each | Classic board | Race board |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 10 | 9×9 | 9×9 |
| 3 | 7 | 9×9 | 9×9 |
| 4 | 5 | 9×9 | 9×9 |
| 5 | 6 | pentagon | 11×11 |
| 6 | 5 | hexagon | 11×11 |
Modes
- Versus computer — 4 levels: easy, normal, hard, master.
- Same device — 2–6 people take turns on one phone.
- Online — with friends via a 5-character room code; there's also quick-join for open rooms.
Strategy
- Don't spend walls early: move first, block when a rival gets close.
- The most valuable wall forces a detour; one wall can add 4–6 steps.
- Count your own path too; your wall shouldn't block you.
- With several players, block the leader and don't waste turns on the stragglers.
